Hmmm... September is almost over and I haven't written anything. It has been a weird month. I was exhausted most of the time and then ended up getting a wicked ear infection. Who gets ear infections in their 30s? My Mom doesn't even remember me having them as a kid. Oh well, apart from the antibiotics making me nauseous, I'm finally feeling better. I'm hoping that the exhaustion will lift as well. I am looking forward to PEI with Martin (8 more sleeps left). We are renting a cottage near the sea - just the two of us. Can't wait. Work is busy with all kinds of little projects, but no big one yet. I like the short consulting trips especially, but that means less time here in the office to get articles written - it is a balancing act. Barb (my housemate) is preparing for a double hip replacement for mid-November, so that is a WEE bit scary. I'm going to rearrange the house a bit, so I still feel not quite settled down here. Lots of drama happening with Sheila in Nairobi, so it was really special to have reconnected with her in August just before all heck broke loose in her life. What else? My parents have decided to go on the cruise of a lifetime from LA to Miami via the Panama Canal next Sept. My sister has a lot on her plate with a lame horse, an old dog, lots of politics at work and a boyfriend who is renovating his house and on call all the time for his work... no rest for the weary and in pain. I have a sense that these next six months or so are going to be filled with upheavals of various kinds for various people in my life. Considering my state of mind a year ago, I am just happy to be in a better environment myself. Change can be good, but it sure can be hard too (and very scary). There's a wee update. I haven't even used my camera in over a month, but will definitely have pics of PEI in October.
